Overview
Fortis is two sister firms under one name: Fortis Lux, a financial planning and wealth management practice in New York, and Fortis Capital Advisors, an independent registered investment adviser in Prairie Village, Kansas. Summer Friday, a New York creative agency, brought Yolkk into the project as its specialist web partner. Working primarily through their team, alongside Fortis, we created two websites on one shared foundation. A common approach to typography, gold accents and warm photography gives each firm a presence of its own, with a clear connection between the two.
Challenge
Both firms wanted a boutique, editorial presence, with the care and restraint of a considered publication. Clear service information, disclosures and routes to contact needed to sit naturally within that experience. The design also had to distinguish the two brands: a darker palette for Fortis Capital, and a lighter expression for Fortis Lux, reflecting the meaning of its name. Shared foundations would bring coherence and make careful use of the budget, while leaving enough freedom for each website to feel distinctive. The investment needed to support both the initial launch and the work that would follow.
Solution
We built Fortis Capital first, then adapted its foundation for Fortis Lux, reusing sections where they served both brands and refining the design around each firm. Built in Webflow using Lumos, the component system also gave Summer Friday the freedom to continue building after launch. Their team has since created well over 40 landing pages, largely without technical assistance. We remain involved where new functionality is needed, extending components as Fortis evolves. The result is a lasting investment: two assured digital presences, a system the agency can build on, and confidence across the partnership in the brands’ ability to reach new audiences and support future growth.

“Thank you Yolkk for helping us recreate our website with a more modern, accessible and secure version. Before we couldn’t do simple things like edit our site, update the branding or keep it from breaking down… now we do not worry about any of that.”
